Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and singer. She is also co-starring in Prince's 1984 film, Purple Rain. She was the main female performer for Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. The singer and actress who was christened Apollonia by Prince became one of a number of female musicians in the '80s to benefit from her association with the Purple One. Patricia Kotero is a Californian actress, born in Santa Monica, California in 1959. Her first career was working as a television model. In 1984, she was cast as the role of the lead female of Prince's Purple Rain (during which time she changed her name) and replaced Vanity as a member of the female group Vanity 6 performing with them on the screen under the name Apollonia 6.
